Due to the health benefits, green tea is considered to be one of the healthiest beverages on the planet.  Green tea is healthy enriched with antioxidant that have many health benefits, which may inclde;

Moreover, the benefit of taking green tea is more than just taking for refreshment, there are many health benefit of green tea , below are few of the possible health benefits of green tea.

1. IMPROVE BRAIN FUNCTION : It is often said that green tea especially in the morning keeps you alert,NO! it does more than just to keep you alert, it may also help boost brain function. Observably, one of the key active ingredient of green tea is caffeine, which is also known as stimulant. Unlike coffee, green tea does not contain much caffeine , but there’s enough to produce a response without causing the jittery effect associated with taking in too much caffeine. Effectively, caffeine affect the brain by blocking an inhibitory neurotransmitter called Adenosine. As a result of this action, it increases the firing of neurons and the concentration of neurotransmitters like dopamine and norepinephrine .
According to researches and observations, it was reported that caffine can improve various aspect of brain function, including ; mood, vigilance, reaction time and memory.
However , it is of importance for you to know that not only caffeine is the ingredient in green tea responsible for the boosting of the brain, it also contains amino – acid ( L- theanine) which is capable of crossing the blood brain barrier. Functionally, L- theanine increase the activity of the inhibitory neurostransmitter GABA, which has anti-anxiety effects. It  also increase dopamine and the production of alpha waves in the brain.
Scientific studies claims that both caffeine and L- theanine can have synergistic effect, which means the combination of the two can have powerful effects in improving brain function . Note, the percentage of caffeine is less than that of L- theanine in green tea.
Many people report having more stable energy and being much more productive when they drink green tea. 

2. INCREASE FAT BURNING : According to research, green tea can increase fat burning and boost metabolic rate. Today, looking at the ingredient list for any fat burning supplement, there’s high possibility that green tea will be there .
However , some studies carried out on green tea don’t show an increase in metabolism,so the effect may depend on the individual and how the study was set up. Moreover , in one study involving 10 healthy men, taking green tea extract increased the nmber of calories burned by 4%. Also in another study involving 12 healthy men,green tea extract increased fat oxidation by 17% compared with those taking a placebo. However , it is also reported that caffeine may also improve physical performance by mobilizing fatty acids from fat tissue and making them available for use as energy. Green tea may boost metabolic rate and increase fat burning in the short term, although not all studies agrees to that.

3. MAY HELP PREVENT TYPE 2 DIABETES : Unfortunately, the rate of type 2 diabetes has been reportedly increasing in recent decades. This tragic condition now affect most contries like america. Type 2 diabetes involving high blood sugar level may be caused by insulin resistance or an inability to produce insulin.
Research shows that green tea may improve insulin sensitivity and reduce blood sugar level. One study carried out in japan by a japanese individual found that those who drank the most green tea had an approximately 42% lower risk of type 2 diabetes. However , some controlled studies shows that green tea may cause mild reduction in blood sugar levels. It may also lower the risk of type 2 diabetes.
