THE PROKARYOTES AS EARLY FORM OF LIFE: Are they The first form of living cell ?

 

The kingdom prokaryotes is made up of organisms commonly known as bacteria, infact they are the most ancient group of organisms having appeared about 3.5 millions years ago. Naturally prokaryotes are omnipresent, i.e. they are present everywhere; they can be seen everywhere at once ( Ubiquitous). 

The prokaryotes were known to occupy many environments, in the Sense that they cover every conceivable surface where there is sufficient moisture ( Water) e.g soil,dust,water,air etc and they are also capable of living on and inside of other living things. Prokaryotes are known to majorly occupy an ecosystem.

Prokaryotes were the first form of life on earth and they existed for billions of years before plants and animals appeared.

   

In ancient time, there are many activities on earth, one of them is the strong volcanic activities which was common then, so as a result of this we can say that these first organisms i.e. the the first prokaryotes were adapted to such activities, thereby making them more adapted to very high temperature.  It was known or recorded that in the ancient life ( Early earth), there are some activities which convince us that prokaryotes which were the first organisms then withstand such a harsh conditions like geological upheaval and volcanic eruption, and also bombardment by mutagenic radiation from the sun.
