       How long have Eukaryotes been around/ existed

We have studied some facts on our previous section concerning the prokaryotes. Surely, we know that the prokaryotes are simple life form which have existed at least 3.8 billion years ago. But as evolution continues, and new life forms emerges, the Eukaryotes were formed. 
 The very question now is, What are Eukaryotic cells ? , These eukaryotes differ from the prokaryotes in diverse kinds of ways due to their complexity in form and structure than the simple prokaryotes.  Majorly, many scientist believe that organelles in the Eukaryotes were as a result of a larger prokaryotes engulfing a smaller prokaryotes. This is called the Endosymbiotic theory. Although there are controversial view on this, the Endosymbiotic theory is widely accepted. We shall talk on it later as we proceed.
    One of the properties of the Eukaryotes which make it different from the prokaryotes is how their cell membranes is constructed. Their cell membrane are shappened with steroids which is a family of fatty acids. Eukaryotes were discovered in ancient oil dating back to 2.7 billion years ago by recovering the Eukaryotic biomarkers in this oil. In mid 1990, a group of geologist drilled 700 meters down into the ancient shale of northwest Australia which had been dated with uranium and lead radiometric dating to 2.7 billion years old. Inside the shale, the geologist discovered some trace of oil containing steroids and since the Eukaryotes are only organism which could make this molecules, scientist then concluded that the eukaryotes may have existed at that time of 2.7 billion years ago.

The oldest Eukaryotic body fossil is a multicellular algae called Grypania spiralis which is dated back to 2.1 million years ago. Although Eukaryotic dating through biomarkers has said that Eukaryotes may have existed at least 2.7 million years ago.

So, the question now is ...... Are we to believe that scientist accurately estimated this right?

    Early Scientists had really done a lot in gathering necessary information on early form of life. According to different sources, eukaryotes are new form of life that emerge after the early prokaryotes. Prokaryotes which was estimated to have existed about 3.8 billion years ago before eukaryotes, 2.7 billion years ago. Thanks for Scientists commitments.
