CELL AS A BUILDING BLOCK BUILDING UP ORGANISMS

Cell can be described as a building blocks that assembled together to form a building, likewise different components of the cell assembled together to form the living things because cell is life and life is to living.

All plants and animals are  made up of cell i.e.all living organisms can either be singled cell or multiple cell ( unicellular and multicellular). Organisms that are made up of a single cell are termed ' unicellular organisms' , examples are euglena, chlamydomonas, diatom, slime mould while living organisms that are made up of multiple cells are termed ' multicellular organisms' , examples are Humans, tree plants etc.

DO YOU KNOW?
A cell can be thought of or described as a jar of water which is capable of replicating and surviving itself. Inside the jar, the water differ from the outside environment of the jar, why? This is because there is a barrier between the jar and the outside environment which keep them separate and prevent them from mixing together . Without the barrier the water in the jar would mix with the environment freely by diffusion and the difference could not be maintained. The barrier between the jar and outside environment is the thin membrane. We may say this membrane act like a sieving net which controls the type, size and shape of materials to be collected, controlling the type, size and type of molecules into and out of the cell . All living organisms both plants and animals are surrounded by a membrane. The membrane is known as 'cell surface membrane'.
